“Painting is a Silent Way to Make Noise”

An extension of her poetry and music, each painting is a meditation, intended to be a safe place for the viewer to stop, breathe, and be present. Within the colors and textures, one can experience a whole range of feelings, and be inspired to inquire about, and not resist the natural movement of the heart. Since life tends to move fast around us, these paintings provide healing and sanctuary in the midst of human grief and pain. The colors, shapes, and elements of her work are deeply influenced by Hawaiian indigenous culture, practices, and ancient storytelling.

Her work has been displayed throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey, as well as along the west coast in galleries, pop-ups, and community events, with a goal to expand worldwide.

She is currently open to commissions, murals, and all projects that allow her the freedom to express the truths of human experience.

Passionate about global causes, Brooke has often created collections that donate proceeds to nonprofit organizations and BIPOC-owned businesses combatting racism, economic disparities, transphobia, xenophobia, homophobia, and systemic oppression.
