Leialoha Studios

Your one-stop shop for artist consulting, brand development, Advertising, Storytelling, and Emotional Support.

Artists are inherently sensitive souls. They are the leaders, the feelers, and the creators that bring innovation, vibrancy, and magic to the world. As we find ourselves in a global transition, balancing the digital and the physical realms, artists often find themselves spread too thin, juggling many hats to survive. While artists tend to be independent, we all need support sometimes, whether that is emotional, spiritual, logistical, technological, or otherwise. As we face the pressures of constant social media interaction, and the return of in-person shows, touring, and festivals, it is easy to feel lost, confused, and alone in the noise. Leialoha Studios is here to uplift and guide artists to find their true voice, to provide practical solutions and support that helps artists overcome obstacles, and usher in the next generation of creative pioneers to step to the stage with confidence.

With over 10 years in the field of marketing, e-commerce, and entrepreneurship, and over 20 years of involvement in the arts, Brooke Leialoha has built Leialoha Studios to remind all of their power and ability to create the world and artistic life they envision.

Lei•Aloha

  • Lei: a garland of flowers, shells, leaves or other natural materials, given as a gift of respect, appreciation, love, and celebration. A welcoming gesture.

  • Aloha: More than just a greeting of hello and goodbye, Aloha is a way of life. It is a way of loving and respecting others, the land, and yourself. It is a lifelong journey of learning and opening the heart. While it is the word used for “love” in Hawaiian (Kānaka Maoli) Culture, it has a much deeper meaning:

A - Ala -Watchful alertness. Awaken the path of light. Stay awake.

L - Lōkahi - Working with unity. To bring about peace and agreement.

O - 'Oia'i'o - Truthful honesty. "The truth of the soul."

H - Ha'aha'a - Humility. “The haughtiness of men shall be made low.”

A - Ahonui - Patient perseverance. To endure. "Be patient until the trouble is over."

  • Leialoha: Leialoha means “beloved child” or “garland of love,” and is the Hawaiian name of the artist, named by her aunties at birth. As Brooke has deepened her understanding of the name, she has come to recognize her kuleana (responsibility) to uphold the meaning of Aloha, and share it wherever she goes.

a Name, a Way of Life, Creativity, and Community Building.

“A lei is not just flowers strung on a thread. A lei is a tangible representation of aloha in which symbols of that aloha are carefully sewn or woven together to create a gift. This gift tells a story of the relationship between the giver and the recipient. Many things can make up a lei. One can string flowers, seeds, shells, or berries into a lei. One can weave vines and leaves into a lei. One can weave words into a poem or song, which is then a lei.”

About Leialoha Studios

Brooke Leialoha’s entrepreneurial life started with her independent music career at the age of 15. Her involvement in the Bay Area music scene, local bands, and artistic communities gave her an introduction to the world of expression, how to take an idea and bring it to life, not just as an individual, but in a group-setting as well. This coupled with the introduction of social media at that time set Brooke on a journey of learning how to tell stories, how to generate the interest of audiences, how to connect and maintain relationships with other artists, and how to wield one’s creative gifts. Her goal since the beginning has been to bring messages of hope and healing to the people who need to receive them, and to be of service with her gifts and expressions.

She went on to begin her solo music career at the age of 18 when she moved to San Francisco for college, and danced among creative endeavors, musical collaborations, and creative collectives. Her degree in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University in 2011 provided the opportunity to understand the power of words and a well-crafted narrative, and her Minor in Race & Resistance Studies gave her a foundation of empathy for global causes and the importance of giving back to vulnerable communities.

Upon finishing her degree as San Francisco went from artist hub, to tech boom, she entered the field of E-commerce, which armed her with the skills of customer service, graphic design, shipping and receiving products, and the power of branding. After a few years of experience doing this work for companies, she moved on to build multiple businesses using this knowledge, starting with Crazle’s Closet (a vintage clothing and watch store on Etsy), which eventually led to the creation of The Lady of Lightning (a spiritual business offering psychic readings, workshops, and handmade jewelry).

Between 2014 and 2019, Brooke owned and operated as The Lady of Lightning, located in Portland, Oregon. The move from the hustle of the Bay Area, to the quiet of the Pacific Northwest gave Brooke the inspiration to tap deeper into her spiritual roots and connect with nature, while also encouraging new creative and entrepreneurial endeavors.

While The Lady of Lightning started mostly as a jewelry business, creating hand-crafted, intentional, and healing pieces for the local community and abroad, her healing and intuitive work quickly escalated into a full-fledged global reach, using the power of social media and marketing to connect with clients all over the world. She moved from operating this business mostly in her home office, to working at some of the most well-known spiritual businesses and shops along the West Coast, spanning from Seattle to the Bay Area. In addition to 1 on 1 work with clients, she also taught workshops about spiritual subjects at locations such as The Vajra in Seattle, New Renaissance Bookshop, The Wild Unknown, Psychic Sister, and many more in Portland. During this time, Brooke also wrote, illustrated, and self-published her first book, Lightning Thoughts in 2017, which was sold mostly online, at in-person events, and small shops in the Pacific Northwest. This achievement was a powerful artistic milestone that allowed her to bring the healing powers of her in-person sessions and workshops into written form with insightful poetry and creative exercises to invite readers to slow down, relax, and process life. After releasing the book and celebrating with events in the Bay Area and Pacific Northwest, she opened up The Lightning Center in Portland, a healing studio that housed multiple healing practitioners between 2018-2019. While the healing center was eventually passed on to one of the practitioners who rented the space, this allowed Brooke the freedom and ability to move herself and her business to New York. The Lady of Lightning truly taught Brooke about the necessity of community connections, authentic storytelling, flexibility and courage in entrepreneurial pursuits, and provided a spiritual foundation to her personal and creative life. While she still sees clients digitally on a regular basis, she has mostly transitioned to focusing her spiritual knowledge and gifts on creative projects and consulting.

Coinciding with The Lady of Lightning, Brooke always had other gigs and jobs to keep her business going. Her strong background in marketing and interest in social media inspired her to start a business called Lightning Social Media in 2016. Sharing the skills and passion for storytelling with small businesses and individual artists in Portland and beyond, she helped craft branding plans and built websites, as she was continuing to learn and grow as a business owner. This led to her working for brands and larger organizations, granting her the technical abilities that she still shares with her clients today, such as video editing, copywriting / editing, and clear branding strategies. Between 2016-2023, she worked with brands such as The Wild Unknown, Familien PDX, Black & Brown in the Middle, PlayWrite Inc. and many other brands and individual artists.

While her entrepreneurial spirit was mostly put to use running The Lady of Lightning and Lightning Social Media, Brooke also applied these gifts and marketing abilities to her artistic and musical career when she transitioned from the Pacific Northwest to New York City in 2019. Diving head-first into the music scene after many years away from the stage, she re-entered a world that she left behind due to emotional reasons and the need for personal development and growth. In retrospect, this pause in her musical career between 2013 and 2018 provided a necessary respite and exploration of other creative pursuits, and helped her develop a new relationship with music and expression. Previous to this musical hiatus, Brooke independently released and wrote 6 albums under the name Brooke D. between 2008-2012, traveling between different genres, personas, and musical partnerships. Upon her return to music, she wrote, released, and recorded 2 additional albums, with one coinciding book Something in the Sky in 2021, and now album 9 and 10 on the way in 2024 under a new name, Brooke Leialoha.

Through the process of exile from her musical life, and then return, as well as countless conversations with artists and musicians over the years about the ebbs and flows of creative inspiration, and the coinciding challenges that come with a creative life, Brooke understands the importance of having supportive mentors and helpers along the way. She faced her own shadow: the doubts, the fears, and the obstructions that caused her to step away from music and the stage…to silence her gifts..and ultimately has become a clearer channel and better artist due to this deep reflection and grief. Because of her experiences, both in the light and in the shadows, in times of plenty and times of scarcity, and the frustrations that come as an artist and a business owner, she does not want any other artist to ever go through the pain and agony she has experienced. Returning to the indigenous way of sharing knowledge and support, Brooke’s consulting provides emotional awareness, spiritual wisdom, practical skills, and loving encouragement, with hopes to nurture a new generation of empowered artists.

Leialoha Studios is the culmination of all her creative pursuits and interests, a way to ensure that artists of the present and future don’t have to face their challenges, whether technological or emotional, alone. An even deeper mission of Leialoha Studios, is to protect and uplift the most sensitive and vulnerable artists among us, nurturing and encouraging them so they can enjoy the fruits of their labor while they are living. Having experienced many personal losses to close friends in the artist community, she hopes to be the one phone-call, the space of kindness that saves a lives and careers before it’s too late.

Through her 1 on 1 client work, and more extensive marketing and design services, she hopes to help artists build solid foundations for their creative endeavors, providing structure where there once was confusion and overwhelm, as well as emotional safety and confidence, where there was once shame and fear. Brooke Leialoha holds the deep belief that with the proper conditions, planning, timing, and mindset, that artists have the possibility to thrive and create a more loving and beautiful world. What is enduring and sustainable takes time, healing, and patience to build, and Brooke has learned through many years of exploration, that with strong support system, a village of team trustworthy members, anything is possible.

What we focus our energy on will grow. Allow Leialoha Studios to water the seeds of your aspirations and goals…and watch the garden of your dreams come to life.
